Imagine picking up a fresh bouquet of flowers each week to take home and put in your favorite vase. That’s a bouquet subscription!
Farms that participate in flower subscriptions, vegetable CSAs, etc. are all using a subscription based model. This allows both the customer and the farmer to get exactly what they want. The flower subscriber is guaranteed a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers each week before any stems or bouquets are even offered to the rest of the public. In turn, the farmer is guaranteed a large number of flowers will leave the farm (pre-sold) each week. It’s a win-win!
Bouquet subscribers automatically get the best stems of each week’s harvest! Depending on what comes into bloom each week, subscribers will also be the first to see the new blooms in their bouquets. For example: say the Ranunculus have just started blooming, and there’s not enough to offer extra stems to the public; you as the bouquet subscriber have ‘first dibs’ on those beautiful Ranunculus flowers just by being a subscriber.
Iron Meadows will offer the following bouquet subscriptions in 2021:
- Spring Bouquet Subscription – 4 weeks/4 bouquets April-May
- Summer Bouquet Subscription – 10 weeks/10 bouquets June-August
- Dahlia Delight – 4 weeks/4 specialty dahlia bouquets August-September
We divide our bouquet subscriptions up by the various floral seasons to allow you to choose your favorites. Spring subscriptions feature tulips, daffodils (called narcissus in the floral community), anemones, and ranunculus. Then summers blooms come in with: sweet peas, campanula, agrostemma, cosmos, stock, snapdragons, zinnias, sunflowers, strawflower, celosia, amaranth, and MUCH more. Our summer subscriptions start beginning of June and end mid-August for a 10 week length. Right as some of the early summer blooms fade, the dahlias come in to their element! Mid-August to mid-September we offer the Dahlia Delight Subscription! Think dahlias, dahlias, and more DAHLIAS! These bouquets feature all the various shapes and colors of dahlias we’ll be growing in 2021 (over 30 varieties). You’ll find some greenery and other floral elements inside the bouquets but it will be obvious that dahlias are the feature flowers.
