In April of 2021 Iron Meadows began its first spring bouquet subscription. Then in June the summer bouquets began, and August brought the dahlia subscription. It’s now November 2021, we’ve had our first killing frost, the Christmas amaryllis are being potted up, and it’s time to look ahead to our 2022 flower line up.
This year everyone (local and afar) fell in love with the bouquet subscriptions that left our farm each week. So I knew we had to continue and expand our subscriptions offerings for 2022. Here’s a little review of what the entire 2021 bouquet subscription season looked like:
Spring Bouquet Subscription
For the 2021 Spring Bouquet Subscription, there were 4 weeks of bouquets from April through May. Each week featured combinations of tulips (French, double, and Parrots), beautiful smelling Narcissus (daffodils), fluffy ranunculus, bright eyed anemones, a peony and even crabapple branches.
I think week 3 was my favorite of the spring bouquets. It featured all tulips: Belicia (white and pink double), Menton (pink) and Queen of the Night (DARK purple/maroon)…if you had a chance to stop by for our fall bulb sale in October, I likely talked you into combining these 2 beauties for a gorgeous spring color combination in your yard!
Summer Bouquet Subscription
Summer subscriptions started the very first week of June and they were offered on Tuesdays at the Champaign Farmer’s market and then again on Thursdays for local on-farm pickup. I so enjoyed watching everyone come up and fall in love with the seasonal and super fresh flowers in each week’s bouquet. Sunflowers really seemed to steal the show!
*We will not be attending the Champaign Farmers Market in the 2022 season.*
Each bouquet was laid out, rubber banded, trimmed, wrapped, and labeled by hand. When I fill the back of our Canam with buckets of flower bouquets all ready to go, it fills my heart with so much joy that not only did I grow each and every flower from seed by myself, but I also have a local community that is supporting my small business.
Thank you
From the bottom of my heart, I am so beyond grateful for each and every one of you that purchased a subscription, a mason jar bouquet, a dried flower wreath, tulip bulbs, etc. during the 2021 season. Here’s to 2022 and making the 2022 Iron Meadows Flower Farm season even better!!
